Echoes of Life

We make advertising films

Echoes of Life produces short-form video advertising for other businesses. Films like the ones below, made to order for you — vertical, square or widescreen, cut for the platform they will run on.

Every film on this page we made for ourselves, to advertise this company. Nobody commissioned them and nobody approved them but us, which makes them the most honest portfolio we can show you. If they hold your attention for thirteen seconds, that is the whole argument.

Length and format are built around where the film will run, so the price follows the job rather than a rate card. Tell us the platform, the campaign and the deadline, and we will come back with a figure and a date.

Best seen on a phone. Every film here is 9:16, cut to fill a phone screen. On a desktop it plays in a small window, which is not the format and not how anyone will meet it.

The Quiet Pour

Our newest. A product film made from three things off a kitchen shelf.

A household whisky glass, one sphere of ice and a measure of whisky. That is the entire cast — nothing was bought, built or borrowed for it, and nothing in frame came from anywhere but a kitchen cupboard.

Twenty-four seconds of glass, ice and light, cut vertical with sound on. It is the plainest answer we can give to what would you do with our product? — hand us the thing itself and the film gets built around it.

What you get

Delivered as broadcast-ready files, cut to each platform rather than one film letterboxed to fit everywhere.

FormatFrameRuns on
Vertical1080 × 1920 · 9:16 Reels, Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts
Square1080 × 1080 · 1:1 Feed placements, where vertical gets cropped
Widescreen1920 × 1080 · 16:9 YouTube in-stream, connected TV, websites, trade stands
FilesH.264 · AAC 48 kHz Fast-start MP4, captions burned in or supplied separately

A campaign is usually one idea in three frames rather than three different films. Cutting it that way costs far less than commissioning each one separately, and it keeps the campaign recognizably one thing.

General requirements for online advertising

Length is not a creative decision so much as a platform one. Most of them have already made it for you — here is what each placement actually demands.

PlacementRequirementWhy that number
YouTube bumper6 seconds A hard cap, not a style. One idea, one image, no room for a second thought.
YouTube skippableFirst 5 seconds The skip button appears at five. However long the film runs, it has to earn the stay before then.
Feed — Reels, TikTok, FacebookUnder 15 seconds The line that matters. Under fifteen completes about half again better than anything over thirty.
Anything on a phoneVertical 9:16 Finishes roughly a third better than widescreen — it fills the screen instead of sitting in a letterbox.
Connected TV30 seconds The exception. Unskippable, completion above ninety per cent. Past forty-five seconds it falls away sharply.
TikTok20–35 seconds Wants more room than the rest; the strongest lift in recall sits in that band.

The seven below run between twelve and a half and fourteen seconds. That is not a coincidence — it is the fifteen-second line, respected. The Quiet Pour is the deliberate exception: at twenty-four seconds it is built for a product page and a connected-TV slot, where the rule is thirty, not fifteen.

None of the above tells you whether the first two seconds are any good, and that is the only part that decides whether the rest gets watched. It is where most of the work goes.

What it costs

Quoted, not listed.

Three things move the number: how many finished films you need, how many formats each one is cut to, and how fast you need them. A single vertical film for one platform and a six-film campaign across three formats are different jobs, and a rate card would misprice both. Tell us what the campaign has to do and we will come back with a figure and a date.
